To help us process your repair accurately and avoid issues:

  • If your part tests good and no fault is found, a $100.00 up to $300.00 Bench Test / Diagnostic Fee (Depending on module) may apply instead of the full repair price. This is for the time going through the module testing everything. Some modules are more extensive to test on and that is why the base labor fee can range in price. (Semi trucks and Tractors are commonly the more complex modules most times)

  • Testing time is usually its a 3 to 4 day process in most cases. Especially modules that intermittent issues and not a hard fault. When something completely fails its easier to find the problem. Fees will be applied and adjusted on your invoice to reflect this and I will call you to let you know the cost before hand.

  • For Vehicles, Scan your vehicle for codes before disconnection of battery or removal of unit. If no codes are present, let us know. Any stored or pending codes help confirm the fault and avoid delays in your repair.

  • Selecting the incorrect option here will be corrected on your invoice to the proper amount and will show on your invoice.

ECU / Module Repair Authorization & Disclaimer

By signing this form, you authorize CLG Performance to test and repair the ECU/module submitted.

Scope of Testing & Authorization

  • Upon receipt, the device will be inspected only for the concerns listed on this form.
  • Any additional testing or diagnostics beyond the stated concerns must be requested in writing (email or text) and may result in additional labor charges.

Diagnostic / Labor Fees

  • A non-refundable diagnostic labor fee of $100 up to ~$300.00 applies to all units submitted for testing, including cases where the unit is found to be fully functional.
  • This diagnostic fee does not include repair labor, parts, or hardware costs.
  • Repair labor and parts will be quoted separately and itemized on your invoice.

Invoicing & Customer Portal

  • All invoices are issued through the CLG Performance Customer Portal.
  • A customer account must be created to view invoices, quotes, and payment history.
  • Repair labor and parts will be clearly itemized and approved by the owner prior to repair.

ECU / TCU Cloning & Tunes

  • If your vehicle has an existing non-stock (tuned) ECU/TCU, the tune data will be cloned where possible.
  • ECU/TCU serial numbers cannot be changed on certain vehicles due to manufacturer hard-coding.
  • As a result, your tuner may require you to repurchase tuning credits to make future modifications. CLG Performance is not responsible for tuner licensing or credit requirements.

Shipping & Identification

  • If mailing multiple modules, clearly label the original ECU/module and the replacement ECU/module to be programmed.
  • CLG Performance is not responsible for misidentified or unlabeled units.

Additional Repairs & Deposits

  • A deposit may be required for parts if additional issues are discovered.
  • Any additional labor or parts costs will be communicated by call or text and must be approved before work proceeds.
  • All charges will be fully itemized on the final invoice.

Peace Of Mind:

Everything will be itemized on the invoice and will be updated to show your payment manually. We are a small business so please give us time to update things and send you text or emails or give you a call if we have any questions. We do our best to give all the information we can on your repair including updating your invoice with pictures of the inside of your module to show any damages found. We will discuss any further processes if its cheaper to get another module for you and clone it as well to give peace of mind of the service we provide. We are here to help even if other repair places say its not repairable or you need another module programmed by a dealer. We try our best to eliminate all the extra work for the customer having to tow a vehicle to a dealer, wait for weeks to get a module and also have a locksmith program keys. We try to prevent all the extra work for the customer.

Base Pricing and Information for Electronics Repairs

Diagnostics & Repair

Labor-based diagnostic fees start at $100 and up, depending on module type and complexity.
Diagnostic labor fees are non-refundable due to time spent testing and evaluating electronic modules.
If a replacement or programming solution is more cost-effective than repair, you will be informed before additional labor is performed.
If no fault is found, only the diagnostic labor fee applies (typically $100–$350 depending on module complexity).

ECU & Module Programming / Cloning Services

ECU, TCU, and Automotive module programming or cloning services start at $220 and up.
In most cases, cloning preserves vehicle security data and eliminates the need for locksmith key programming.
Some modules require BDM programming, which involves opening the module. BDM cloning services typically start around $450.

Core Return Discounts

Core return discounts typically range from $5–$20, depending on module type.
If a replacement module is sourced externally, supplier core policies may apply.

ECU, PCM, TCU & Vehicle Electronics Repair

Submit a repair request using our ECU repair form and include any diagnostic trouble codes or symptoms prior to module removal.
Many ECU issues are caused by sensors, wiring, or vehicle systems rather than the control module itself.
If module failure is confirmed, you may be instructed to ship the unit for professional evaluation.

Non-Automotive Electronics Repair

CLG Performance also evaluates select non-automotive electronics. Contact us to determine service eligibility.
 We can fix just about anything electronic including Industrial, commercial, Home, and Consumer Electronics, Chip Tuners, Programmers, and many other controls and devices.

ECU / TCU Cloning & Data Retention Policy

Our goal is complete transparency and technical accuracy during ECU and module repair services.
In most cases, complete data cloning preserves custom tunes and calibration data.
Data loss occurs only when internal memory or processors are physically damaged or corrupted.

Hard-Coded ECU Serial Numbers

Some ECUs contain non-modifiable serial numbers. While data is cloned, tuning devices may remain locked to the original module, potentially requiring new tuning credits.

ECU Data Recovery From Damaged Modules

Data recovery may still be possible from burned, corroded, or physically damaged ECUs.
Contact CLG Performance before shipping to discuss recovery feasibility.

Module Handling & Submission Requirements

  1. Do not open or disassemble modules prior to shipping.
  2. All modules are photographed and documented upon arrival.
  3. Misrepresentation of module condition may result in service refusal.
