Automotive ECU & electronics repair

We evaluate and repair engine, transmission, and body control modules, fuse boxes, radios, amplifiers, and other automotive electronics. Services include circuit testing, board repair, cloning, programming, and data recovery, depending on the module and its condition.

Vehicle diagnostics & mechanical repair

A fault code does not always mean the control module has failed. Wiring, sensors, and other vehicle systems may need further diagnosis. Contact us to discuss your symptoms and schedule an appointment for vehicle testing or mechanical repair.

Industrial, commercial & consumer electronics

We also evaluate control boards, HVAC controls, industrial equipment, audio devices, and other electronics. Please contact us to confirm service availability before shipping.

If another shop has been unable to repair your device, we can discuss whether further evaluation, data recovery, or cloning may be possible. Each device is assessed individually.

Base Pricing and Information for Electronics Repairs

Diagnostics & Repair

Labor-based diagnostic fees start at $100 and up, depending on module type and complexity.
Diagnostic labor fees are non-refundable due to time spent testing and evaluating electronic modules.
If a replacement or programming solution is more cost-effective than repair, you will be informed before additional labor is performed.
If no fault is found, only the diagnostic labor fee applies (typically $100–$350 depending on module complexity).

Invoices are accessible through your customer portal: Customer Invoice Portal

The displayed total is a deposit to begin the repair and order the required parts.
If no fault is found with your electronic components, a diagnostic labor fee of $100 to $300 will apply.
Testing fees depend on the complexity of the module.

  1. Most small cars and light trucks under 4,000 lbs: $100.
  2. Vehicles over 4,000 lbs and up to 6,000 lbs: $160
  3. Vehicles from 6,000 to 14,000 lbs: $200
  4. Vehicles of 14,000 lbs and above: $300 including semi-trucks and tractors

(These prices cover diagnostic labor only when the module tests correctly.)

If you put down a deposit that is over these amounts above and it test good with no issues found, You will be refunded the difference back to you minus any transaction fees if you paid via Square Payment since they charge fees on transactions through them. This is why I prefer Zelle, CashApp, or Venmo in these cases for payments.

ECU & Module Programming / Cloning Services (ONLY with no repairs)

ECU, TCU, and Automotive module programming services start around $300 and up Depending on module type and what OE hardware we have to use and licensing we have to subscribe to like motorcraft service for Ford IDS or GM for Tech Connect, Mopar WiTech Services if we have to use the service.
If we are just cloning a module it is $220 if its a direct clone over with no need for OE programming.

In most cases, cloning preserves vehicle security data and eliminates the need for locksmith key programming.
Some modules require BDM programming, which involves opening the module. BDM cloning services typically start around $450.

Core Return Discounts

Core return discounts typically range from $5–$20, depending on module type.
If a replacement module is sourced externally, The supplier’s core policies may apply and this will be relayed to the customer and included on their invoice

ECU, PCM, TCU & Vehicle Electronics Repair

Submit a repair request using our ECU repair form and include any diagnostic trouble codes or symptoms prior to module removal.
Many ECU issues are caused by sensors, wiring, or vehicle systems rather than the control module itself.
If module failure is confirmed, you may be instructed to ship the unit for professional evaluation.

Non-Automotive Electronics Repair

CLG Performance also evaluates select non-automotive electronics. Contact us to determine service eligibility.
We can fix just about anything electronic including Industrial, commercial, Home, and Consumer Electronics, Chip Tuners, Programmers, and many other controls and devices. We are building the website repair form soon to take in these electronics as well

ECU / TCU Cloning & Data Retention Policy

Our goal is complete transparency and technical accuracy during ECU and module repair services.
In most cases, complete data cloning preserves custom tunes and calibration data.
Data loss occurs only when internal memory or processors are physically damaged or corrupted. I have found many modules that were incorrectly flashed and have corrupted data that cannot be cloned. In some cases the only option is to flash back to stock using OE software and may need to be programmed in vehicle to sync all other modules. In those cases a locksmith may be needed to program back all the keys to the vehicle. Some vehicles require more than two keys in order to program a module and some vehicles may have to be taken to the dealership to get programmed

Hard-Coded ECU Serial Numbers

Some ECUs contain non-modifiable serial numbers. While data is cloned, tuning devices may remain locked to the original module, potentially requiring new tuning credits.

ECU Data Recovery From Damaged Modules

Data recovery may still be possible from burned, corroded, or physically damaged ECUs.
Contact CLG Performance before shipping to discuss recovery feasibility.

Module Handling & Submission Requirements

  1. Do not open or disassemble modules prior to shipping.
  2. All modules are photographed and documented upon arrival.
  3. Misrepresentation of module condition may result in service refusal.

ECU Photo Submission Requirements

Please provide clear photos before shipping:

  • Module label and part numbers
  • Connector side
  • Complete exterior housing

Photos ensure compatibility verification and faster service turnaround.
